Using my right arm to wipe what I suspected to be blood from my eyes so I could see my arm. My forearm was about twice my other's size, with lots of fun colors popping up quickly; absent-minded, I noted how pretty they were. Perhaps I'm still a little hazy, I thought to myself. Doing a quick check, I realized a few ribs were at least bruised, maybe broken, and my right arm didn't seem to be working quite right either.
Everything else seemed to be lots of cuts and bruises that would hurt tomorrow but not fatal. I managed to get to my feet and lean gently on the car behind me. I was in a parking lot that was dimly lit, with some very nice cars. The Porsche that I was leaning on had seen better days, though.
I tried to think about how this had happened, but it was like a dream that you just couldn't quite remember. You know it happened, but the details slipped further away the more you thought about it. My gut and my broken body told me something was wrong, but I didn't see anything or anyone besides parked cars and parking garage lights, most of which had been broken. What the hell had happened. This looked like an upscale parking deck; I placed my hand on my forehead, trying to think. I must have a concussion or something; my head felt like it was going to explode.
